So many people in our community are struggling to pay their bills these days, and yet the wealthiest companies are still bringing in record high profits for their shareholders. In 2023 alone Eversource made $11.9 billion in profits while proposing a 42% rate hike. In July, after some negotiations with the PUC, it was announced that our electric rates will increase by 16% as of August 1st. This is unacceptable.
