Monadnock Hike June 19, 2013 resized 350NH is working to bring attention to our organization and the importance of the preservation of our environment through a Hiking NH campaign.

We have embarked on a journey to hike many of the peaks in the Granite State, called Tar Sands Free NH Hiking Campaign. These are easy to moderate hikes, planned for people of all ages and hiking ability. 350NH is creating attention to the Trailbreaker/Line 9 project. This pipeline could carry Tar Sands oil from Canada to Portland, Maine through New Hampshire and Vermont on its way to Montreal, Quebec.

The first hike was held on Wednesday, June 19th. A group hiked Mount Monadnock’s Dublin Trail. It was a beautiful summer day to climb one of the most hiked mountains in the world. Once at the top pictures were taken to ensure 350NH’s message was loud and clear: No Tar Sands in New Hampshire!

The second hike was held on Tuesday, June 25th. Another beautiful day blessed the group with scenic vistas of the surrounding area of Mt. Major. In time for the second hike, bandanas from the Fearless Summer campaign arrived and were prominently displayed.

Our intention is to post our experiences, promote our campaign and to get NH involved in how important the preservation of our natural resources is to our communities and to do it in a fun way by Hiking NH!

Further hikes will be scheduled and promoted through 350NH Facebook page or email 350NewHampshire (at) gmail (dot) com. 350NH will continue these hikes throughout the summer in line with our Summer Heat and Fearless Summer campaigns. This is for the Earth’s future and the future of our children; we must keep fighting for them. Join Us!
